Leawood Storm Debris Pick-up North of I-435

The City of Leawood will be completing a debris pick-up for residential properties north of I-435 which is anticipated to begin the week of July 24th to provide time for residents to get their debris cut and placed at the back of curb. Once this process begins it could take six weeks to complete.

The City of Leawood requests:

  • Small branches be bundled together with cut ends on one side if possible.

  • Tree limbs should be cut to under six (6) feet in length.

  • All bundles shall be set within ten (10) feet of the curb as city crews will not enter residential lots to remove debris.

  • Please note solid waste companies may also pick up branches as part of their contract with your HOA. If they do provide this service it will speed up Leawood’s pick-up process.

Damaged trees adjacent to the streets will not be trimmed by city crews as the trees are the responsibility of the adjacent property owner.

The City will provide a map on their main website (www.leawood.org) with pickup areas completed to allow residents to track the progress.

For additional questions or if you are unable to get your debris cut and placed at the back of curb, please contact Leawood Public Works at (913) 663-9142 or at actioncenter@leawood.org. The City may delay pick-up on a specific street if residents are unable to have the debris cut and placed at back of curb by July 24th.
