Leawood Public Works will begin street sweeping operations north of I-435 on Monday, July 17th. The two sweepers will operate ten (10) hours a day, six (6) days a week until the streets have been swept at least twice. To complete the work as quickly as possible the sweepers will be shadowed by a dump truck to allow the sweeper to unload the debris while on the streets and then continue sweeping.
Cleaning of the streets is necessary to prevent recent debris from entering the waterways. Please do not place branches or other debris in the street as this will slow the sweeping process and get into the waterways.
